On your first appointment your osteopath will take a detailed case history including questions about your general health and full medical history. Please bring with you a note of any medications (or the medications themselves)  you are using. It will aid in assessing your condition and in reaching a correct diagnosis.

 

The osteopath will then perform a full examination of the problem area. They may ask you to make simple movements and stretches, to observe your posture and mobility. This may involve undressing to your underwear or if you prefer you can bring shorts and a vest top. 

 

It may be necessary to perform medical tests such as blood pressure reading and neurological testing. 

 

At the end of the first consultation/examination a detailed explanation of the diagnosis and proposed treatment will be given to you.
