Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

You may be asked to undress to your underwear, but if you prefer you can bring shorts and a vest top.

Can I bring a friend or relative?

Yes you can bring someone with you to treatment.

If the patient is under the age of 16 we ask that a parent or guardian is present during treatments.

Do I need to see my doctor first?

You do not need to see your doctor before booking an appointment with us. We do ask for the details of your GP for our records. We won't contact your GP without your consent.

Some insurance companies do require that you to see your GP first.

How many treatments will I need?

The number and frequency of treatments depends on the condition and the person. We aim to keep your appointments to a minimum.

Will treatment hurt?

Osteopathic treatment is not usually painful, although some brief discomfort may be felt.

Due to the physical nature of the treatment, it is not unusual to sometimes feel sore or stiff in the first 24–48 hours after treatment. Your osteopath will explain any likely reactions that you could expect.
